- Under option to Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (JOGMEC);
- Titan (operator) has granted JOGMEC the option to earn a 50% working interest in 76,354 hectares (188,675 acres) by contributing Cdn $6 million over 4 years;
- Project comprises Titan’s Castle South Extension (adjacent to AREVA/UEX Corp.’s Shea Creek property), Gartner Lake, King and Maybelle River properties. The project area surrounds Purepoint/Cameco Corp.’s Smart Lake property;
- Historic exploration data identified favourable basement rocks capable of hosting uranium mineralization;
- Airborne electromagnetic (EM) (2005, 2007) and high resolution magnetic surveys (2007) defined basement structures and basement EM conductors;
- Ground TDEM and MaxMin surveys (2007, 2008) identified drill targets for 2008 drill program;
- A winter 2008/2009 drill program of 2058 metres (5 holes) funded by JOGMEC tested several high priority targets. Encouraging results from DDH GL-08-01, GL-08-02A, and GL-08-03A included anomalous values of the pathfinder elements Boron (105 to 2610 ppm) near the unconformity and in basement rocks. Uranium values from the same sections had values of 2.62 ppm to 6.2 ppm U;
- Ground TDEM surveys (February 2009) located numerous basement electromagnetic conductors; and
- A summer 2009 drill program of 1604 metres (7 holes) funded by JOGMEC continued to test different stratigraphies with high priority targets. Encouraging results from DDH KNG-09-02 included anomalous values of Uranium (15.6 ppm U) in a reworked breccia zone of quartz-feldspar-biotite gneiss basement rocks immediately below the unconformity. Corresponding Boron values from the same section had values of 62 ppm to 64 ppm B.
2010 Program
- Titan currently has a drill program in progress on this property, and is planning a DC resistivity survey for early in Q2 2010.
